Festive Fun in Farnsfield

Date: 4th Nov 2018 Author: Chris Blockley

Farnsfield Scouts will be holding a Christmas Fayre on Tuesday 27th November at Farnsfield Village Centre. Opening at 5pm, come along to the hall and start your Christmas shopping. There will be a variety of stalls selling gifts including personalised children’s clothing and t-shirts, jewellery, glassware, books and stocking fillers. There’s something for everyone and children will enjoy the face painting, Christmas games and teddy tombola. Not to be missed is the raffle with lots of fantastic prizes up for grabs including Sunday Lunch for two at The Lion, a family pass to White Post Farm and tickets for Mansfield Town Football Club. The Christmas lights switch-on is at 6pm outside the Co-op so why not pop in to the fayre before or after for a warming hot chocolate or treat yourself to a mince pie or hot sausage roll!

“It’s a great opportunity for the Scouts to take part in this annual community event,” explained Chris Blockley, Group Scout Leader at the group. “The Scouts have been part of the local community for 75 years and the group wanted to do their part with some festive fun! The Christmas lights switch-on is a chance for the village to come together. We’re all excited about being involved and we hope that local people will come along on the night to enjoy the fun.”

The fayre runs until 7.30pm and the raffle will be drawn at 7pm. Raffle tickets can be purchased on the night or in advance by contacting Sara Atkin (christmas.fayre@1stfarnsfield.org.uk).

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
