Back Together Safely (COVID-19): Latest plans on how the group is returning to face-to-face Scouting. Find out more

Beavers

Beavers are our youngest members (aged 6 to 8), and generally meet for an hour per week.

They enjoy all that Scouting has to offer; being introduced to outdoor activities, having the opportunity to be creative, explore their local community and experience the excitement of a Beaver Scout Sleepover with their friends. Take a look at a little video of what they get up to.

The Beaver Colony is the first and youngest section of the Scout Group. Beaver Scouts are young people aged between 6 and 8 years old. There is core flexibility in the age range: young people can join from age 5¾ and can move to Cubs between age 7½ and 8½.

We have two Beaver colonies which are very popular that meet on a Tuesday and a Wednesday. They meet at Farnsfield Village Centre, New Hill, Farnsfield, Newark, Nottinghamshire. NG22 8JN.

Tuesdays (Halifax) 5.30pm-6.30pm – Beaver Scout Leader Laura Cracknell and Assistant Sam Marriott

Wednesdays (Fern) 6:00pm-7:00pm – Beaver Scout Leader Natalie Osborne and Assistants Helen Blockley, Rebecca Darby and Andrew Emsley

Scouting provides a second family to lots of young people. It’s a safe place where they can aspire and grow.'
