Explorers Make a Splash!

Explorer Scouts from Farnsfield gathered for a day of water activity on Sunday 6th June. Over 30 young people from both the Scout section and Explorers took on one of the first water events the young people have attended in recent times.

Held at Nottinghamshire Scouts Adventure Centre near Hoveringham, the day was adventure packed with loads of on and off water activities for the 14 to 18 year olds to do. Explorers had the chance to take part in exciting water-based activities, ranging from kayaking to sailing, to canoeing and even a chance to take a cool down swim in the lake!

Despite the weather forecasts threatening inclement weather, it stayed dry and the Explorers enjoyed a great taste of adventure on the water.

Farnsfield Explorers have an action-packed summer coming up with the Great Farnsfield Cook Off, survival skills night, a murder mystery evening and even a bit of fitness with “when’s a scone a scon?”.

Thank you to the adults that made the water activity day possible. We can’t do this without great volunteers. Farnsfield Explorer Scouts is open to young people aged 14 to 18. If you’d like to get involved as a young person or volunteer then get in touch with Chris on 07779324341 or visit 1stfarnsfield.org.uk/join

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
