Den Building Beaver Adventures
What an amazing time all young people have been having recently at 1st Farnsfield Scout Group. With the hot weather in the last half of June all age groups have been ditching the usual unfiorm and getting out and about to make the most of the good weather.
Halifax Beaver Colony (Tuesday) have recently visited Sherwood Pines for evening of adventure, exploring and den building. Sherwood Pines was in the midst of it’s summer music, Forest Live, but didn’t stop the colony enjoying a great evening. The unusually hot weather meant usual attire was dropped for cooling shorts and t-shirts. The den building is part of getting outdoors and teaches the young people the bushcraft skills required to construct their own woodland homes!
The other three sections have been very busy too this month. The same week 20 members of our Tuesday night Cub Pack enjoyed a cooling water fight. Water guns, buckets sponges and plenty of water meant all the young people kept cool but had fun too. Scouts took a chance to go outside too with some team building games and Fern Beaver Colony (Wednesday) hosted a tea party to raise money for the Royal National Intitute for Bling People raising £64. Thanks to all that came!
