Date: 4th Apr 2017 Author: Scout Websites

A major event in our yearly scouting calendar is joining together with other Scout groups from our District to celebrate St. George’s Day. This year was no different as young people and leaders from all the scouting sections (Beavers, Cubs and Scouts) that make up 1st Farnsfield Scout Group joined in the parade through Southwell, culminating in a celebration service at Southwell Minster.

Over 800 scouts assembled at The Burgage, Southwell before parading through the town to the celebration service which was held at the Minster for all sections. After the service the parade reassembled in the minster grounds and marched on to the Memorial Field, Bishops Drive.

This coming term the whole scout group is going on a camp discovering time travel. 56 young people and adults enjoying a weekend of activities at a local campsite. We’ll try to give you an update on how that goes in the May edition. Other activities this term include the Farnsfield Scarecrow Festival being held on Monday 1st May. Come and see our scarecrows!
