Farnsfield Cubs Tour De Calverton
This month has continued to be busy for all ages within Farnsfield Scout Group. Our youngest section have been out celebrating their 30th anniversary, Scouts have been getting arty and Cubs taking part in the District Cyclo-cross.
During October the Beavers, aged 6 to 8, took a trip to Calverton to join 600 others in a fun packed day of adventure to celebrate the birthday. The activity day focused on fun activities, adventures and challenges including toasted marshmallows, traversing an adventure wall and joining drumming workshops.
The Scouts, aged 10½ to 14, have completed the artist activity badge where they had a visit from a local artist who talked them through the tools and technqiues to be the next Van Gogh. More recently they have been out learning map reading on a small ramble exploring the Southwell Trail.
Finally the Cubs, aged 8 to 10½, have taken on the challenge of the District Cyclo-cross event. This involved team and individual skill to navigate their mountain bike around a course through forests, over dirt tracks and along leafy pathways. The Cubs had a great time walking away with awards for an overall second place plus many first, seconds and thirds in the individual events.
Thanks to all the adults that have helped make this last month great. Many hands really do make light work! Can you help us with a badge or event? Please contact Chris on 07779324341 or email join@1stfarnsfield.org.uk if you can help.
