Farnsfield Cubs Swimming Challenge
This term has been a very busy one 1st Farnsfield Cubs. So far this term the young people, aged 8 to 10½, have took part in several challenges across Nottinghamshire.
In January the pack took 10 members to the NESST Challenge Walk near Ollerton. The Cubs rambled 4 miles local villages ending with chips and sausages. Thank you to the adults that went along. More recently the Cubs have been working on their challenge award learning about the body by drawing life size versions of themselves!
In February the Cubs joined in the District Swimming Gala event at Nottingham High School. 15 members of the pack attended an evening of swimming challenges. The young people participated in single and team events. A multitude of awards were handed out with Farnsfield Cubs coming second overall. Well done to the young people who’s first time in the event was great to see!
More recently during March 1st Farnsfield Cubs has grown yet again with the addition of a second Cub pack running on a Thursday. They started on a very snowy Thursday during the “Beast from the East” snow but had a great night learning about their local surroundings going towards their Local Knowledge Activity Badge.
Farnsfield Scout Group continues to offer young people everyday adventure but we can’t do this without adult volunteers. We’re looking for new helpers to the group committee who administer the group. If you think you can help visit 1stfarnsfield.org.uk/volunteer to see what role might suit you.
