Coop Farnsfield Boosts Scout Project
The Co-op Farnsfield and it’s Co-op Members have given a surprise boost to 1st Farnsfield Scout Group’s ‘Kit Refresh’ project with a donation of £1,755 as part of the newly revamped Co-op Community Scheme.
The Co-op Community Scheme was relaunched in September 2016 and looks to share 1% of what Co-op members spend on own brand products and services to the Co-op Local Community Fund. Three charities were chosen at the Co-op Farnsfield of which 1st Farnsfield Scout Group were one.
Peter Carter, Chairperson of 1st Farnsfield Scout Group said “The contribution from the Co-op and it’s members is amazing and will help over eighty young people from Farnsfield experience Scouting”.
Peter, went on to say “The group has recently taken nearly sixty members away using some of our refreshed kit. This helps the group offer some young people their very first night away in a tent”.
