As always 1st Farnsfield Scout Group have been doing an awful lot and that’s all down to the amazing local volunteers.

This last month Halifax Beavers (Tuesday) have completed their Road Safety activity badge working with the Nottinghamshire County Council Road Safety team. As part of this they have walked around Farnsfield and learnt about the everyday hazards they need to be aware of. Fern Beavers (Wednesday) organised a tea party to raise money for the RNIB (Royal National Institute for Blind People). They raised a grand total of £64! The Cub section have been working on their DIY badge by making fathers day key racks. By cutting, sanding and drilling wood, they’ve made some great gifts.

The older Scout section have been working towards the highest award in their section; the Chief Scout’s Gold Award. This is made up of nine challenge awards from personal skills through to being a team leader, and adventurous challenges to personal challenges. A key part of this is helping the local community and the Scout section recently spent an evening in the church completing jobs to help keep it spick and span. Thank you to Gillian Squires who helped organise the evening at the church.
